Erissery (Onasadhya)sadhya recipe # 3

It is a special side dish of Onasadhya.





SUMMARY

INGREDIENTS

  •  Plantain (nendrakaya)...1 big size 
  •  Elephant yam................300gram
  •  Chill powder.................1/2tsp
  •  Turmeric powder..........1/4tsp
  •  Salt...............................to taste
  •  Pepper powder.............1/4tsp
  •  Coconut Oil.................11/2tbsp

FOR GRINDING:

  •  Coconut.......................1/4cup
  •  Cumin seed..................1/4tsp
  •  FOR TEMPERING:
  • Grated coconut..............1/2cup
  •  Dry chilly.......................3nos
  •  Cumin seed ..................1/4tsp
  •  Mustard.........................1/4tsp
  •  Curry leaves spring.......2springs
  •  Coconut Oil...................2tbsps

 STEPS

  1.  Add all the ingredients in a clay pot and cook until it is done, smash well.
  2.  Grind coconut with all above mentioned ingredients and add in to the cooked vegetables, mix well.
  3.  When it start to boil turn off the flame.
  4.  Heat coconut oil in a pan add mustard seed and cumin seed, when they crackled add dry chilly, coconut and curry leaves, fry until golden brown, and add them in to the veg mix. 
  5. Erissery is ready to serve.
