Nendra pazham puzhungiyathu (steamed banana)

Today's my recipe is Nendra pazham puzhungiyathu (steamed banana).It is usually serve for break fast with puttu and upma.It is also good and healthy evening snack.






SUMMARY:

  • Total time .............12minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ripe plantain.................4nos (kerala nendra pazham)
  • Jaggery ........................11/2cubes
  • salt ...............................a pinch
  • Water ...........................as required

STEPS:

  1. Wash and cut the banana into 3pieces.
  2. In a vessel add banana pieces,1 cup of water and salt,cover the vessel with lid and cook it.
  3. When it is almost cook stir well, add jaggery and cook again with lid until jaggery is melt, combine well ( once it is done, its outer skin will be black and inner part should be soft).
  4. Nendra pazham puzhungiyathu is ready, serve warm.........Enjoy!!!!

TIPS:
  • If it is prepared in a clay pot, place banana leaves in side the pot and cook banana on top of it, it will be more tasty and yummy.
