Gothambu choru ( Wheat rice) no:1

Hello friends,
Today I would like to share a special recipe, which is my Mom used to feed me during my post delivery period as breakfast, It is very healthy and delicious, also used as normal break fast in my naive place. It can be prepared easily on previous night and do final touch up on next day morning at break fast time.

SUMMARY:

  • Total Time: 35minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Broken wheat (sooji gothambu)...2cups
  • Parboiled rice.........................1/4cup
  • Fenugreek seeds................11/2tbsp
  • Salt....................to taste
  • Grated coconut........11/2cup
  • Water............as required
  • Ghee...............2tbsps  (optional)
  • Sugar.............4tbsps 

STEPS:

  1. Wash the broken wheat and fenugreek seeds,soak for one hour.
  2. Drain it and pressure cook along with required water (water should be just to cover the broken wheat) until it is done or 4 to 5 whistle.
  3. When pressure is completely released, open the lid and add grated coconut and salt, smash them with a wooden spatula. ( if it is too dry add little water and mix well).
  4. Transfer wheat rice in to a serving bowl, sprinkle ghee and sugar, mix well and garnish with grated coconut, serve warm and enjoy!!!!!!!
