Kerala style nadan Parippu vada (lentil /dal fritters)

Hi Friends,
Today I am sharing nadan parippu vada.It is spicy,crunchy and yummy.A great evening snack with tea or coffee.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Chana dal(kadala parippu)..1cup
  • Chopped dry red chillies.....3to4
  • Chopped shallots............10nos
  • Chopped ginger..............2tbsp
  • Chopped green chilly......2nos
  • Chopped curry leaves.....3tbsp
  • Salt..................................to taste
  • Oil ...................................for fry
STEPS:
  1. Wash and soak chana dal for 3 to 4 hours,drain the water completely and pat dry.
  2. Grind soaked dal  to make a coarse paste without  adding water.
  3. In a mixing bowl add chopped shallots,ginger,red chilly,green chilly and salt, then squeeze them add crushed dal and mix well.
  4. Wet your hands and make it equal size balls with the mixture,then slowly press it to make a round shape.
  5. In a wok pour oil and heat it,when oil is hot reduce the flame to medium and deep fry the vadas both side until golden brown and drain them with paper towel.
  6. Delicious parippu vada is ready.Enjoy with tea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

NOTE: you can use toor dal instead of chana dal or both mixed equally.
