This is a traditional sweet snack in kerala, especially in center malabar.It is simple and tasty.

INGREDIENTS
- Rice powder .................2cups
- Water ..........................2cups
- Salt .............................to taste
- Egg .............................1no
- Oil.............................. for frying
FOR FILLING:
- Grated coconut ..................11/2cup
- Sugar ..................................7tbsps
- Cardamom powder..............1/2tsp
STEPS
- Boil 2 cup of water in a sauce pan adding salt.
- When it is boil, reduce the flame add rice flour and mix it evenly with a spoon,.Keep it covered for a minute,Switch off the flame.
- When the dough still warm, knead it well with your hands, dipping your hands in slightly beaten egg while kneading.
- Make lemon sized balls from the kneaded dough.
- Roll the balls to get thin round shape (refer photo)using chapatti press.
- Mix all the ingredients for filling and keep aside.
- Keep rice chapatti on poovada mold and place the filling in the center and mold it(as shown in the photo)
- Deep fry the molded poovada until golden brown.
- Serve poovada with tea or coffee.
