Ifthar snack pazham nirachathu (Whole stuffed banana fry)

This  is a malabar ifthar snack.Tasty and yummy. There are many variety of ifthar snacks with ripe banana in Malaber cuisine, this is one of them, easy to make,simple and healthy.






SUMMARY:

  • Total time.............15minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ripe plantain ...4nos (kerala nentra pazham)
  • Oil....................For deep fry

For filling:

  • Grated coconut............1/2cup
  • Flattened Rice flakes...4tbsp
  • Sugar.........................4tbsp
  • Cashew nut.................10nos
  • Cardamom powder.....1/4tsp

For Batter:

  • Maida......1/2cup
  • Water..... as required
  • Salt..........a pinch
  • Baking powder...2pinch
  • Turmeric powder..2pinch

STEPS:

  1. Peel and slit the Banana deeply one side of length wise (refer attached photo) and keep aside.
  2. Mix well all filling ingredients with your hands and fill into the slitted bananas.
  3. Make a thick batter with all batter ingredients.
  4. Dip stuffed bananas into the batter, make sure batter is evenly coated on the stuffed bananas.
  5. Heat oil in a wok and deep fry it until golden brown in medium flame.
  6. Whole stuffed banana fry is ready, Enjoy with tea or coffee.....!!!!!!
