Poori (indian fried bread)

Dear Friends,
Today's recipe is how to make puffy and soft poori.





SUMMARY:

  • Course...........breakfast
  • Cuisine..........kerala

  • Total time...........20minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Atta (whole wheat flour).1cup
  • Semolina.............1tbsp
  • Rice powder........1tbsp
  • All purpose flour.1tbsp
  • Sugar...................1/2tsp
  • Salt .....................to taste
  • Water...................as required
  • Oil ......................for frying

STEPS:

  1. Take a wide  bowl add  all  ingredients except water and oil, then mix well with your hands.
  2. Add required water at a time into the flour and knead well, apply little oil on top of the dough and cover with wet cloth, leave it for 20 minutes.
  3.  Make small sized balls from the kneaded dough.
  4.  Flatten the balls to get circles which are neither too thin nor thick using chapati press. ( do not to use dry flour while pressing).
  5. Heat oil in a deep bottom pan and deep fry it.
  6. Serve with potato bhaji or vegetable stew.
  7. Enjoy the dish.........!!!!!!!!
