- Chana dal................1/2cup
- Toor dal....................1cup
- Copped tomato.........2nos
- Chopped onion..........1big
- Chopped green chilly...3nos
- Ginger garlic paste.....1tsp
- Turmeric powder......1/2tsp
- Chilly powder............1/2tsp
- Mustard seed...........1/4tsp
- Cumin seed..............3/4tsp
- Hing.........................1/4tsp
- Crushed coriander....1/4sp
- Bay leaf.....................1nos
- Red chilly...................2nos
- Chopped cilantro......4tbsps
- Oil.............................3tbsps
- Salt ........................to taste
- Water................as required
- Wash and soak both type of dals for 15 minutes and pressure cook them, keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seen and cumin seed, when it is crackled, add chopped onion, crushed coriander, bay leaf and red chilly, saute it for a minute.
- Add ginger garlic paste, tomato and chopped green chilly, stir for couple of minutes, then add chilly powder, turmeric powder, hing and salt, saute it for a minute.
- Now add cooked dal and combine well, add water as per your consistency,close with lid, cook in slow sim for 4 to 5 minutes.
- When it is done transfer into serving dish and garnish with chopped cilantro.
- Serve warm with jeera rice or chapati........Enjoy dal tadka...!!!!!
