Dal tadka

Hi friends,
Today's recipe is dal tadka.It is very simple and flavourful recipe which is prepare two kinds of lentils.

  • Total time..............25 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
  • Chana dal................1/2cup 
  • Toor dal....................1cup
  • Copped tomato.........2nos
  • Chopped onion..........1big
  • Chopped green chilly...3nos
  • Ginger garlic paste.....1tsp
  • Turmeric powder......1/2tsp
  • Chilly powder............1/2tsp
  • Mustard seed...........1/4tsp
  • Cumin seed..............3/4tsp
  • Hing.........................1/4tsp
  • Crushed coriander....1/4sp
  • Bay leaf.....................1nos
  • Red chilly...................2nos
  • Chopped cilantro......4tbsps
  • Oil.............................3tbsps
  • Salt ........................to taste
  • Water................as required
STEPS:

  1. Wash and soak both type of dals for 15 minutes and pressure cook them, keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seen and cumin seed, when it is crackled, add chopped onion, crushed coriander, bay leaf and red chilly, saute it for a minute.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste, tomato  and chopped green chilly, stir for couple of minutes, then add chilly powder, turmeric powder, hing and salt, saute it for a minute.
  4. Now add cooked dal and combine well, add water as per your consistency,close with lid, cook in slow sim for 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. When it is done transfer into serving dish and garnish with chopped cilantro.
  6. Serve warm with jeera rice or chapati........Enjoy dal tadka...!!!!!
