Thari kanji (semolina drink)

Hi friends,
Today my special recipe is Thari kanhi, This is usually make in ramadan for Ifthar.






SUMMARY:

  • Course ...................Ifthar drink
  • Cuisine ..................kerala
  • Preparation time....5minutes
  • Cooking time.........10minutes
  • Total time ..............15minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Semolina (rava) .....1/4cup
  • Vermicelli (semiya)1/4cup
  • Milk ........................2cup
  • Water ......................11/2cup
  • Coconut milk .........3/4cup
  • Sugar ......................6tbsp
  • Cashew nut .............10nos
  • Raisines ...................8nos
  • Chopped shallots .....8nos
  • Cardamom powder....1/2tsp
  • Ghee ..........................11/2tbsp
  • Salt..............................a pinch
  • Sago ...........................2tsp

STEPS:

  1. Heat ghee in a vessel, fry  chopped shallots,cashew and raisins.
  2. When it is golden brown, add water and one cup of milk,let it boil.
  3. Now add semolina,soaked sago,and vermicelli stir well and cook for few minutes.
  4. when it is done add remaining milk,salt  and sugar stir for couple of seconds,then add coconut milk and cardomom powder combine well, remove from the heat.
  5. Thari kanji is ready..........Enjoy..!!!!!!!!
