Caramel custard (caramel flan)

Hi friends,
Today's recipe is a wonderful pudding,caramel custard.It is  simple, tasty and yummy.Please try and feed back.


SUMMARY:

  • Course.......................pudding
  • Preparation time........5minutes
  • Cooking time..............15 to 20minutes

INGREDIENTS:

FOR CARAMEL TOPPING:

  • Sugar .........................1/4cup
  • Water .........................2tbsp

FOR  CUSTARD:

  • Egg ............................4nos
  • Sugar ..........................1/2cup
  • Milk .............................2cup
  • Vanilla essence.............1tsp

STEPS:

  1. Make caramel: In a sauce pan add sugar and water heat it and swirl the pan to help it to melt down(don't stir ).
  2. Let the caramel come to boil allow it to bubble up until it turns golden brown.Then pour this caramel in a  greased  baking pan and spread it evenly keep aside.
  3. Whisk eggs, add sugar and vanilla beat again  until it light and fluffy,then add milk and mix well.
  4. Then pour this mixture into prepared pan through a strainer and cover the pan with aluminium foil.
  5. Heat  water in a steamer and place the custard pan in the steamer, close with lid.Once steam comes,simmer  for 10 to 12minutes, then switch off flame and leave it for another 5 minutes.
  6. Open the lid and allow it to cool down to room temperature.Then keep in fridge and serve chilled.
  7. Enjoy delicious caramel custard!!!!!!!!!!!!

TIPS:
  1. you can also bake this in oven,by using water bath method.
  2. If it is over cooked,it will curdle.
  3. Caramel custard is also known as caramel flan.
