Fish samosa

Hi friends,
Today's special recipe is fish samosa.It is very tasty,yummy and  great snack for Ifthar.Please try and feed back.



SUMMARY:

  • Course ..........................snack

  • Total time ......................30minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  •  King fish (ayakoora).......250g
  • Onion...............................2nos
  • Green chilly .....................2nos
  • Chopped ginger.................1/2tbsp
  • Chopped garlic .................1/2tbsp
  • Curry leaves .....................2springs
  • Turmeric powder ..............1/4tsp
  • Pepper powder...................1/2tsp
  • Garam masala ....................2pinch
  • Fennel seed powder............1/4tsp
  • Boiled mashed potato.........1no
  • Salt .....................................to taste
  • Coconut oil .........................11/2tbsp

FOR MARINATION :

  • Chilly  powder.....................1/2tsp
  • Turmeric powder ................1/4tsp
  • Salt ......................................to taste

FOR SAMOSA  SHEET:

  • All purpose flour..................1/2cup
  • Wheat flour...........................1/2cup
  • Oil ........................................1tsp
  • Salt .......................................to taste
  • Oil .........................................for fry

STEPS:

  1. Make a smooth dough with all purpose flour,wheat flour,oil and salt by adding required water,keep aside.
  2. Wash the fish pieces,drain it and marinate above mentioned ingredients for 10 minutes.
  3. Then slightly shallow fry the fish,allow to cool and crush them,set aside.
  4. Heat 11/2 tbsp coconut oil in a pan  add sliced onion,green chilly,ginger,garlic,salt and curry leave saute until onion turns golden brown.
  5. Now add turmeric powder,pepper powder,fennel powder and garam masala then saute until the raw smell is gone.
  6. Then add crushed fish stir for 3 minutes add mashed potato and chopped cilantro stir and cook for 2to3 minutes.Transfer fish masala in a bowl  and  keep aside.
  7. Make lemon size balls with the dough.Flatten and  roll it to a round thin sheet.Then cut the flat thin sheets into half (two pieces).
  8. Now with each cut sheet,coat the edges with water,fold like a cone then fill with the fish masala and seal it.Do this all remaining balls.
  9. Heat oil in a wok and  deep fry them until golden brown.Serve warm..(you can use ready made samosa sheets instead of home made sheets)
