Rava upma

Hi friends,
Today's my recipe is upma.It is a traditional Indian breakfast dish.There are many varieties of upma in  India,here is the recipe rava upma.It is very tasty and easy to make.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Semolina(rava)....1cup
  • Chopped carrot.....1/2
  • Chopped ginger.....1tsp
  • Chopped green chilly.1no
  • Dry red chilly............2nos
  • Chopped onion..........1no
  • Curry leaves..............1sprig
  • Urad dal....................1tsp
  • Mustard seeds...........1/2tsp
  • Grated coconut.........4tbsp
  • Coconut oil...............1tbsp
  • Ghee ........................1/2tbsp
  • Warm water...............2cups
  • Salt ...........................to taste



STEPS:

  1. Dry roast semolina until light golden colour and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in pan,splutter mustard seeds and urad dal then add dry red chilly,chopped onion,chopped green chilly,chopped ginger,curry leaves  and chopped carrots saute until onion become golden brown.
  3. Now add warm water,ghee and salt.When water is bubling   add roasted semolina little by little and stir well without any lumps.
  4. Then cover  the pan with lid and cook in low flame until it is done.Then open the lid,sprinkle grated coconut mix well and remove from the heat.
  5. Close the pan and leave it for 5to 10 minutes.Delicious rava upma is ready.Serve with small banana and sugar or curry. 
  6. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
