Cheera sambar (Spinach sambar)

Today's recipe is a healthy curry, spinach sambar. it is tasty and  easy to make.






 SUMMARY:

INGREDIENTS
Spinach(cheera) ..1 bunch
Toor dal................1/4 cup
Shallots ................8 nos
Tomato .................1 no
Green chilly ..........2 nos
Turmeric powder ..1/4 tsp
Salt ........................to taste
FOR GRINDING:
Grated coconut ......1/2 cup
Sambar powder.........2 tbsp
FOR SEASONING:
Ghee ......................1 tbsp
Coconut oil ............1/2 tsp
Mustard .................1/2 tsp
Shallots ..................6 nos
Red chilly ..............2 nos
Curry leaves ..........2 sprigs
STEPS;

  1. Wash the spinach under running water, drain and chop it.
  2. Pressure cook toor dal along with shallots,chopped spinach stem, sliced tomato and turmeric powder.
  3. When it is done smashed well,add chopped spinach and salt then cook for few minutes.
  4. Make a smooth paste with grinding ingredients.
  5. Then add ground coconut paste ino sambr, off the flame just before it starts to boil.
  6. Seasoning it with above mentioned ingredients.
  7. Enjoy.....curry with rice and papad .
