INGREDIENTS:
- Fish.......................500g

- Curry leaves ...........2 sprigs
- Chopped ginger.......1 tsp
- Chopped garlic........1 tsp
- Crushed pepper .......1/2 tsp
- Fennel seed .............1 pinch
- Cardamom pod.........1no
- Garam masala ..........1 pinch
- Thick coconut milk...1 cup
- Thin coconut milk ....11/2 cup
- Cashew nut ...............5 nos
- Turmeric powder.......1/4 tsp
- Salt ...........................to taste
- Vinegar.....................1 tsp
- Coconut oil ..............as needed
- Chopped cilantro......1tbsp
FOR MARINATION:
- Pepper powder ..........1/2 tsp
- Salt ............................to taste
- Turmeric powder........1/4 tsp
- Lemon juice ...............1 tbsp
STEPS:
- Clean and wash the fish, cut into round shape and marinate with above mentioned ingredients.Keep aside for 20 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow (half) fry the fish.
- In the same oil,( used for fish fry )add fennel seed,cardamom, chopped ginger, chopped garlic, onion, green chill,curry leaves, garam masala, crushed pepper and turmeric,Saute it for 3 minutes.
- Reduce the flame then add thin coconut milk and vinegar, combine well.
- When it starts to boil, add fish and cover the fish with round sliced tomatoes, cover the pan until it is done.
- Grind cashew in thick coconut milk and add into the curry,switch off the flame before it starts to boil.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
