INGREDIENTS:
- Vellarikka(cucumber)...1 medium size
- Toor dal.........................1/4 cup
- Tomato .........................1 no
- Salt ...............................to taste
- Water ............................as required
FOR GRINDING:
- Grated coconut .............1 cup
- Cumin seed ...................1/2 tsp
- Kanthari or green chilly..2nos
- Garlic cloves ..................2nos
- Shallots ..........................6nos
- Curry leaves ..................1 spring
- Turmeric powder............1/2 tsp
FOR SEASONING:
- Coconut oil .....................2tbsp
- Mustard seed ..................1/2 tsp
- Chopped garlic ...............2nos
- Chopped shallots ............6 nos
- Dry chillies .....................4 nos
- Curry leaves....................2 springs
STEPS:
- Peel the skin,remove the seeds and cut the cucumber into 1/2 inch cubes.
- Cook cucumber along with toor dal,tomato,salt nd little water.
- Grind all above mentioned ingredients to smooth paste.
- Add ground paste in to cucumber and mix well, when it is start boiling switch off the flame.
- Then seasoning with the above mentioned ingredients.
- Serve hot with rice.
