Payar kanji (split green gram(moong dal) porridge)

Hi friends,
Today's special  is a healthy,tasty and easy recipe.payar kanji which is made by moong dal and  jeerakasala rice in coconut milk. It is special dish in malabar during ifthar.




SUMMARY:

  • Total time .................35minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • Split green gram(cherupayar parippu).1/4cup
  • jeeraka sala rice.....................1/4cup
  • Thick coconut milk................1cup
  • Thin coconut milk(randam paal).2cup
  • Water .........................................as required
  • Salt ............................................to taste

STEPS:

  1. Heat in a pan add split green gram(cheru payar parippu) dry roast them until golden brown.Then wash it.
  2. Take a vessel, add  washed rice split green gram, thin milk and required water, then cover the vessal and cook until it is done.
  3. Once it is cook, add thick milk and salt,combine well.
  4. Payar kanji is ready.....Enjoy warm!!!!!!!!
